Cinediary - Page 2

“Ocean Lovers”

Page 2 of my Cinediary series will always have a special place in my heart. The reason for that is because for the first time, I’ve included my girlfriend into the video.
This page is all about my trip to her hometown Nha Trang in Vietnam. I’ve visited Vietnam many time in the past, but this trip tops it all. Starting from the beginning of the trip where my girlfriend picked me up on her scooter, which also quickly became one of my favorite thing about the trip, but I’ll get to that later. We then drove to her favorite local food spot for some bánh Căn. After that we drove to our hotel to check in. Now the reason why the scooter became my favorite thing about the trip is that it was a geared scooter, not an automatic one. I’ve only driven automatic scooter in the past, and the few time I’ve tried learning how to ride a gearshift one did not go well. So this time, I didn’t want to be a burden to my girlfriend, I had to quickly learn how to ride one. Hilariously, whenever we stop at a restaurant or coffee shop, I would pull out google and learnt how to ride one. Luckily I’m a really quick learning so after 1.5 day, I got the hang of it, and I would ride my girlfriend all around the city on her small little scooter and I enjoyed every second of it.
Another highlight of this trip would be when we visited one of the aquarium. I don’t feel strongly about aquariums usually, but this one has some really cool structures and tanks that I thought I captured beautifully in the video. Another highlight of the trip was when we found this empty land of tall grass during sunset. We originally was just driving with no destinations in mind, and that when we came upon this land. When I saw it I knew we had to stop by, and it was some of the most beautiful moment that I captured in Vietnam. I love it so much it became the opening shot of this video.

I really wanted to capture and share not only the beautiful views of her hometown, but also the feelings that it gave me. I think when you’re in love, everything no matter how small can become a source of joy. When you’re with your love one, a lot of time all the worries, and pressure simply washes away. I wish to attaint that mental state even when I’m alone as I think that is how you find more happiness in your everyday life.
