PHAT T. NGUYEN
Being born in Vietnam and later moved to the United States at 15, I’m constantly battling the duality of the human conditions. I belong to two different worlds and cultures, and at times I feel like I don’t belong anywhere. As I grow older, I start to look at this as more of a strength rather than weakness. The ability to see and appreciate small details from growing up in two cultures allows me to develop a keen eye for what I consider is beautiful. Beauty isn’t only found in the grandeur and vastness of the world, beauty can also be found in the small and mundane. When the world can feel so bleak and hostile, you can shift your perspective and find beauty hiding in plaint sight in your own world.
”Beautiful things don’t ask for attention” but if we can see more of it, we can be more aware of how beautiful life really is.
